1 The Arabic alphabetالحروف العربية
The Arabic alphabet has 28 letters and is written from right to left. The first letters are: ا (alif), ب (ba), ت (ta), ث (tha). Many letters change their shape a little depending on whether they are at the beginning, in the middle or at the end of the word.
الحروف العربية ثمانية وعشرون حرفًا، ونكتبها من اليمين إلى اليسار. أول الحروف: ا ب ت ث. وكثير من الحروف يتغير شكلها قليلًا حسب موقعها في أول الكلمة أو وسطها أو آخرها.
2 Greetings in Arabicالتحية بالعربية
Hello: مرحبا (marhaba). Good morning: صباح الخير (sabah al-khayr). Good evening: مساء الخير (masa' al-khayr). Thank you: شكرًا (shukran). How are you?: كيف حالك؟ (kayfa haluk?). Fine, thanks be to God: بخير، الحمد لله (bikhayr, alhamdulillah).

3 Numbers 1 to 10الأرقام من ١ إلى ١٠
1 واحد (wahid), 2 اثنان (ithnan), 3 ثلاثة (thalatha), 4 أربعة (arba'a), 5 خمسة (khamsa), 6 ستة (sitta), 7 سبعة (sab'a), 8 ثمانية (thamaniya), 9 تسعة (tis'a), 10 عشرة ('ashara). Did you know that the digits we use in Europe are called «Arabic numerals»?
١ واحد، ٢ اثنان، ٣ ثلاثة، ٤ أربعة، ٥ خمسة، ٦ ستة، ٧ سبعة، ٨ ثمانية، ٩ تسعة، ١٠ عشرة.
4 Family words in Arabicالعائلة
Dad: أب (ab). Mum: أم (umm). Brother: أخ (akh). Sister: أخت (ukht). Grandfather: جد (jadd). Grandmother: جدة (jadda). Family: عائلة ('a'ila). Try to introduce your family in Arabic!
